Hello again from sunny Spain!
Hopefully you’ve had a great Christmas and celebrated the arrival of 2019 in style. We spent the evening with a crazy bunch of ex-pat friends up here in the mountains where the air was cool but sparklingly clear and the few fireworks we had lit up the sky like colourful extra stars….maybe not a patch on the spectacular shows in London or any of the other major cities around the world but sometimes it’s not where you are but who you are with that counts.
New Year is traditionally a time to look back at the year and at Finca Xanadu we have had a wonderful year with guests who have enjoyed what Finca Xanadu has to offer and, without exception, been a joy for Richard and I to have around. Some of the comments we’ve had:
“I have been a naturist since 1989 and always holiday at a naturist place, …self catering apartments, or a naturist B & B in various places…in Spain, Florida, California, France, Holland, Canaries etc. but your place is the best.”
“ALL the food was VERY VERY GOOD and the help yourself bar was stocked with a great selection of wines, bubbly, beer, when I said I liked Ponche Caballero on ice, lo and behold, next day 3 bottles appeared.”
“Thanks for a very restful few days. We are now working on burning off all those tasty calories.”
“The picture on your web site does not do the view justice by a long way, the facilities at Finca Xanadu are superb, people do not know what they are missing if they don’t come and stay, We really felt like we were staying with friends.”
We also had mentions in H&E Magazine including from Glyn Williams in the October edition:
“Fabulous. A lovely couple who are making a wonderfully normal naturist haven in the hills with magnificent views; that beautiful infinity pool and the food – gorgeous!” Thanks Glyn. Check out the rest of his very amusing and informative article – and of course the rest of H&E.
Needless to say, we are over the moon with this kind of feedback and are feeling very positive about the coming year.
New Year is also a time for NY resolutions. This year ours is to cut back on the amount of plastic, particularly the single use variety, we use. We’ve seen it first hand on the beaches we’ve been to around the world and also highlighted so much this year on various TV programmes. If we can even do a little to help stop the mess we are making of this world then we have to try. So…no plastic straws at Finca Xanadu!
So, now we are in the process of tidying the house and garden, picking the olives (which last year provided us with all the oil we needed) walking in the lovely countryside around us and continuing to learn Spanish before we head off for a couple of weeks in Florida and Mexico. We are looking forward to diving, exploring old Mayan ruins and visiting Playa Sonrisa – a naturist B&B in Xcalak on the Caribbean coast of Mexico. We’ll let you know how it goes.
Closer to home, the new airport at Corvera opening in January – Murcia International Airport – is less than an hour from us so getting here will be even easier in 2019. All the flights previously flying into Murcia San Javier will transfer and we believe there will also be some new routes from the UK.
However you get here, we would love to welcome you to Finca Xanadu this year. Drop us a line and book your Finca Xanadu holiday now.
